It’s that time of year again in North America, Fall. The temperature is decreasing, and the leaves are turning beautiful, vibrant colours of red, orange and yellow. October is also the unofficial month of “the pumpkin.” So many options for pumpkin recipes, but one of our favourites is a rooibos based pumpkin spiced latte. Sounds heavenly, right?
2 tea bags of Zen Out herbal tea by Kailo Tea
2 tablespoons of pumpkin puree
Freshly ground pepper
½ teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice (or more if you like!)
2 cups of whole milk/almond milk/milk of choice
Whipped cream (for serving)
Add milk, pumpkin puree, and sugar to a saucepan over medium heat. Heat until hot, but do not boil. Remove the saucepan from the heat and whisk in the vanilla, pumpkin pie spice, and the tea.
Divide the yummy mixture between two mugs. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice.
Pro tip – make your own pumpkin pie spice!
1 ½ tablespoons ground cinnamon + 2 teaspoons ground ginger + ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg + a pinch of ground cloves.
